Question : Is it possible to feel physically sick when you have a cold sore on the lip? I have symptoms similar to the flu

Thanks for your query.

Most of the viral infections present with few common symptoms like mild fever, fatigue, muscle pain, headache etc. Since cold sore is caused by herpes virus, it is not uncommon to have symptoms like above or ones that mimic flu.

These symptoms would not last long. You can take symptomatic treatment if its unbearable, like Tab MOTRIN 400mg twice daily for three days after food.
