Suggest Treatment For A Cut On The Urethra

default
Posted on Mon, 4 Jul 2016
Question: I think my boyfriend accidently cut my urethra with his finger nail. After intercourse, I had bright red blood (not period blood) all over and now every time I urinate it hurts and there is blood. It has been about 8 hours and the pain and blood has lessened. Should I still go into urgent care?

Brief Answer:
No need to go to emergency

Detailed Answer:
Hello Mam, thanks for trusting health care magic.
I understand your anxiety but nothing urgent needs to be done and rather just take rest.
It is a very vascular area so once the bleeding starts it takes time to stop but since it has decreased, it will be fine soon.
Take tablet paracetamol for pain in case bothersome.
Take care.
