Question: I was putting on my eyeglasses and the right side of the glasses hit under my eye and now it is a little sore. I can see and it isn't red. I am concerned because I had cataract operations last year. Could the inside of my eye be hurt where it was hit?

Brief Answer:
It seems like minor injury, no need to worry.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Welcome to Health care magic.

I am Dr. Dadapeer K, an ophthalmologist and I answer health problems related to eye.

I reviewed your history.
No need to worry as the injury by glasses does not seems to be serious. You need to worry if you have symptoms of redness, watering, sensitivity to light, blurring of vision....
Since you are not having these symptoms it is probably a minor injury with soreness of eye. You need to use antibiotic eye drops and analgesic tablets for relief from symptoms.

If you have any of the above mentioned symptoms you need to consult your doctor.

Hope the information is helpful to you.

Thank you

Brief Answer:
Injury to bone will prevent injury to eye.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thank you for the follow up question.

If the glasses has hit the bone it is unlikely to injure the eye.
The soreness is because of contusion injury. Apllying cold compression and use of analgesic tablets will provide symptomatic relief.

The bone around the eye called as orbit will prevent injury to eye, hence no need to worry about injury to the eye proper.

Hope the information is helpful to you.
