Question : About 5 days ago a lump grew in my armpit. It's under the skin and about the size of a 5 cent coin. It has a pail red ting to it and it hurt when i touch it our move my arm up and down. About 2 days ago i found another very small one underneath it. I can move the skin on top of it but the lump it's self wont move. I have a swollen lymph node behind my ear (already had it checked and it's nothing) it feels very different to the lumps in my armpit though. The swollen lymph node behind my ear is very movable. Please help me, these two lumps are tinged reddish and hurt. I'm very scared it's cancer or something like that. I'm only 16 i can't die yet :'(
Brief Answer:
They are enlarged lymph nodes.
Detailed Answer:
Hi
As per your description, they are enlarged lymph nodes. They are enlarged due to infection and inflammation.
I prescribe Antibiotic like Amoxycillin and Potassium clauvulanate twice daily along with anti inflammatory tablet twice daily for 1 week to my patients with similar complaints.
Nothing to worry. It is not Cancer.
Once the inflammation has subsided, biopsy of the Lymph node should be done and send for histopathological examination. Exact nature of the disease will be known.
Hope I answered your query. If you have any questions, I will clarify further.
Wish you good health.
Regards
