Question : Ive had this red rash irritation on my penis head for 9 months now. Friction is what irritates it. Tested negative for stds. Wife had yeast infection when it started. Derms and doc dont know. Hydrocortisone helps. The pics are after sex. It hurts when irritated and is affecting my life in alot of ways. When it hurts i jave to apply desitine and wrap in clear wrap. Usually lasts a few days after sex or masturbating.

Brief Answer:
Bacterial infection or allergic reaction. Need following treatment.

Detailed Answer:
Hello Dear,

Thanks for writing to us. I have reviewed attached image.

1) According to my opinion, it DOESN'T look like any kind of STD (test results negative). It occurs mostly due to repeated friction during rough sex or hand job with less lubrication.

Bacterial or fungal infection is associated factor. It may be due to allergic reaction from cosmetic or chemical bath products.

2) Keep the area mostly clean and use an antibacterial soap. Use lubricated condom during sex and avoid masturbation with dry hand. Wear loose fitting and comfortable underwear only.

I suggest you to apply topical antiseptic cream or ointment (Combined Neomycin 0.5%, Clotrimazole 1% and Beclomethasone 0.025%). Avoid cosmetic products including scented one. Don't involve in sexual activity until your wife's treatment is completed or your problem is resolved.

Kindly, procure complete prescription from your local doctor or dermatologist. It will be more worthwhile.

Hope, I have answered your query. Wish your good health and take care.

Thank you for responding. I had taken a few doses of antifungal pills minths back so would that rule out fungal? Im going back to see my dr tomorrow since its not getting any better. Actually its getting worse. So a non std infection could last for that long? Does it look like dermatitis or psoriasis? Theres no std that causes those symptoms with friction like that? Its to the point where my penis aches after an erection. What could that be from? Also urethra opening is very sensitive.Sorry for loaded question but im very concerned. Ur certain it looks like no std? Thank u for answering

Brief Answer:
Not STD. Follow treatment guideline.

Detailed Answer:
Hello Dear,

Thanks for your follow up query.

1) You should undergo proper examination of the affected area on the penis before taking any kind of medicine or ointment.

Above regimen will be helpful to reduce infection or inflammatory reaction. Dermatitis should be ruled out. It doesn't look like STD.

2) Repeated friction with inadequate lubrication or allergic reaction to certain products are the main underlying causes. You can use water based gel or Vaseline to reduce dryness.

Do a routine urine examination to rule out any kind of infection.

Hope, it helps for you. Maintain hygiene. Good luck and take care.
