Question : I've had a circular red rash (looks like the number 8 on the back of my elbow for about a year and I'm not sure what it is or how to get rid of it.
It is 1 inch long, half-inch wide and the bump protrudes about 1 mm from the skin. It doesn't itch but it is just ugly to look at.

Brief Answer:
It is Ringworm infection.
Detailed Answer:
Hi
I saw the pic.
It is Ringworm infection. It is caused by Fungus, not worm.
I prescribe Ointment containing Clotrimazole or Miconazole to my patients with similar complaints. These ointments are available without prescription Over the counter.
You should take the treatment for another 2 weeks after the lesion disappears.
Keep the area dry and clean.
If there is no response in spite of above treatment, you should consult your Dermatologist.
Hope I answered your query. If you have any questions, I will clarify further.
Wish you good health.
Regards
