Brief Answer:
Haemorrhoid or skin tag

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for your query.
I'm Dr. Shuba Hariprasad and will be answering your query today.

Your description of the bump sounds like a small haemorrhoid. However, it may also be a skin tag as you specifically mentioned that it was outside your anus. This could occur due to prolonged friction.

I recommend seeing your physician who could examine you and treat the problem.
If you were to visit me, I would :
- elicit a complete medical history along with personal habits.
- do a rectal exam to see the bump, its origin.
Based on these I would advice a treatment plan.

Suggestions : (at home remedies)

# in case of a haemorrhoid, diet changes, exercise, weight loss (if overweight), quitting smoking will help to prevent progression.
Diet should include more Fibre (enough to have well formed stools, you shouldn't be too bloated), whole grains, nuts & fruits and about 2-3litres of water

-avoid sitting for a long time (more than a half hour at a stretch)

-if and when you lift anything heavy, try to hold your abdomen firm & use your legs as well. This will prevent the weight from straining your back and increasing the pressure in your abdomen which may worsen the hemorrhoid.

# in case of skin tag (or hemorrhoid) avoid direct friction (thong).

I hope this helps.
Please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with.

If not, please close this discussion and kindly rate my answer.

Wish you good health
