Question : Symptoms...abdominal pain, projectile vomiting on & off for the past 8 hours, loose stools, have lost 5 & 1/2 lbs. since yesterday AM! Felt like something was lodged in my windpipe or stomach

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history of loose stools, projectile vomiting, pain in abdomen and loosing five and half lbs in such a short time indicates the following:
Gastroenteritis.
Severe dehydration.
To avoid the the further complications of dehydration, electrolyte imbalance and toxemia
I would advise you the following:
Attend ER for clinical evaluation, examination, investigations of blood, urine and stool.
To get started on proper intravenous fluid and electrolyte replacement, antibiotic , symptomatic and supportive management.
Please get these things ASAP.

Thank you Dr. Chandrakan for your diagnosis...I have scheduled an appointment with my primary care doctor for tomorrow AM. Have taken a Prilosec OTC and am drinking fluids to replace the electrolyte balance due to the loss of lbs. I don't like waiting for hours in an ER and with your help, my appointment tomorrow and adequate home care, I think I'll make it!
