Question: I went to the dentist yesterday for an abscess on the roof of my mouth and was given 300mg of clynamidn 4 itmes a day, I took it 2 times and the abscess is double the size and a white tongue. Should I continue taking antibiotics? It's a holiday today, so I know the dentist is closed.

Brief Answer:
Abscess needs to be drained.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

Giving antibiotics for an abscess without incising it is a mistake. Please note that abscess which is filled with pus contains dead white blood cells and dead bacteria. No blood vessels inside. So there is no way antibiotic can reach it.
So please do not wait with it. Visit a dentist or better laryngologist (or craniofacial surgeon) and have it incised and drained as soon as possible. Without it, antibiotics wont help, unless it wont burst by its own.

Hope this will help. Feel free to the query.
Regards.
