Question : Hi my nephew swollowed a 5mg lisinopril who is only 15 months old is there anything I should be worried about? What should I look out for?

Although I do not expect any major side effects, the most common immediate side effect from overdosing on lisinopril is a drop in blood pressure, which can cause fainting, dizziness or extreme weakness. So, you need to be on lookout whether the child seems properly oriented and whether he is steady. You should also make him drink plenty of water and ORS (oral rehydration solution). As such, there is no specific antidote to be given but in case something seems out of place it is better to visit a hospital and place him under observation.
