Suggest Treatment For Accidental Ingestion Of High Doses Of Liquid Vitamin D3

default
Posted on Thu, 19 May 2016
Question: Hi.

I've messed up with some liquid vitamin D3. This Sunday I (stupidly) dripped around 100 drops in my mouth and I think around 50 of those drops (around 1 ml) went into my lungs.

The contents say: Medium chain fatty acids (from coconut) and d3 (10 microgram per 5 drops).

I started feeling some discomfort in my lungs the day after. I still feel some now, 4 days after the incident. No fever yet. Should I do something, or just wait and hope it gets better?

Shouldn't the oil just be taken up by the lungs/skin? Why the discomfort/inflammation?

Thank you.

Brief Answer:
Relax.

Detailed Answer:
HI

Thanks for posting your query.

Well some oils are irritant to the lungs and hence cause inflammtion which causes discomfort. But this is not a serious matter and shall subside on its own .

Unless you are having severe chest pain or breathing difficulty there is nothing that needs to be done.

Relax.

Hope this information was useful to you.
Any clarifications feel free to ask.

Regards.
