Question : I was eating a fish sandwich from McDonalds and swallowed a sizeable fish bone. I now hurt really bad mid chest like near the heart area and right below that area below breast bone. Should I be concerned? I drank an entire thing of tea and some bread and still uncomfortable. Should I be worried.

                                    Brief Answer:
should heal on its own
Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic
The pain can last 3 to 4 days in most cases, sometimes longer (up to a week).
During this time it would be diminishing in its intensity.
The use of anti inflammatory pain killers such as ibuprofen, naproxen or cataflam would help to reduce the inflammation to the esophagus caused by the trauma.
You should avoid spicy, hot or hard foods for at least 48 hours, longer if the pain is still severe at that time.
These foods may further aggravate the trauma.
In the vast majority of cases, it would heal on its own.
I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
