Question: Hi i know this is a silly question but is it possibly to lose weight in your nose ? What if someone were to lose like 150 pounds ? I know a few people who have lost a significant amount of weight and it seriously looks like they got a nose job...I've always been curious. Thanks :)

Brief Answer:
On weight loss fat mobilises from all over.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Welcome and thanks for posting your query to the forum.

After reading your query I can understand that you want to know whether there is loss of fat around nose when someone is losing weight which actually looks like a nose job done.

To tell you about your query- you are correct in your observation that on.losing weight there is loss of fat around the nose too!

It is basically seen in cases where there is major loss of weight.

A simple fact behind this is that under our skin there is a layer of fat under our skin. It is basically because of this fat layer that there is basic difference in the page range of lean and fatty persons.

Whenever there is a minor loss of weight then basically fat mobiles from very few of the areas. But in case of major loss of weight the fat also mobilises from face. This is not that it is particularly around nose but it is also from all over the face.

That is why there is overall change in the contour if face along with change in the appearance of nose. This actually looks like a nose job done which is basically a very appreciable change.

I hope this information was helpful. I will be glad to answer any further queries.

Brief Answer:
Fat mobilises from sides of nose and cheeks.

Detailed Answer:
Hello young lady,

Welcome again to the forum and thanks a lot for so swift follow up.

I am happy to know that you got simple facts regarding your query.

Nowfor your further query- Our face is unique from from rest of the body that it has multiple prominences and depressions which gives us a typical facial contour.

It is also because of the variable amount of fat present at different areas of face.

If we talk about nose in particular then there are cushions of fat on the sides of nose extending from root of nose to the ala (skin around nostrils).
This fat extends upto cheeks and then merges with fat of cheeks.

There is also a cushion of fat above our palate where the nose is placed downwards and another cushion of fat behind the nose.

Basically whenever anyone is losing weight then the fat is mobilised from everywhere. But for face the visible amount of fat is mobilised from the area on sides of nose to cheeks. This is the particular amount of fat which actually gives a bit changed appearance on losing weight. Additionally the fa over cheeks is also mobilised so there is an additional change in facial appearance of variable degrees according to amount of loss of fat.

I hope you found the basic anatomical and medical facts regarding your query.

I will be glad to guide you any further.

Brief Answer:
Nose tip is made of cartilage and not fat.

Detailed Answer:
Dear young lady,

Great to hear so swiftly.

Regarding the tip of nose- it is basically made up of cartilage and not fat. There is a minimal amount fat which we consider negligible in terms if fat loss.

So there is less change in fat loss of mild to moderate nature. But in case of extreme weight loss there is overall change in the architecture of face and therefore the fat around the ala as well as cheeks are mobilised to a great extent. This overall loss of fat actually gives more pointed appearance in comparative anatomical details.

So in extreme weight loss the nose may appear bit shop or pointed not due to loss of fat at tip but around the areas of nose and cheeks.

I hope these informations will help you. I will be glad to answer any further queries.

thanks so much. :) I know this is something different..but do you think it is possible to naturally lift breasts through strengthening the cooper's ligament ?

Brief Answer: XXXXXXX ' s ligament is diffuse structure.

Detailed Answer:
Hello young lady,

Welcome again to the forum. I can get from your query that you want to get breastfeeding lift in relation to cooper' s ligament.

After understanding your query properly let me guide you for your query.

Cooper' s ligament is a fibrous tissue which is not a single entity but is a diffuse tissue spread all over the breast. It is genetically determined in different females to have lax or tight ligmantous tissue. If these tissues are bit lax then accordingly the breast appears saggy and if is tight then accordingly the breast appears raised up.

As the ligament is not a single structure and is diffuse structure soread al over the breast so we can not do anything on this structure medically.

Let me know the exact concern apart from XXXXXXX ' ligament so that I can help you best.

Improving self image.None of us is picture perfect

Detailed Answer:
Hello young lady,

Welcome again to the forum and thanks for your follow up.

I can understand your concern for lifting up of the breast. Breast are one of the most important sign female chastity and improves expression of female beauty.

I see females in your kind if situation not infrequently and those who do want to go for plastic surgery most often visit a dermatologist.

Unfortunately there is no medical treatment available for the same. I suggest my clients to wear various bras which actually raise up breast and give more prominence. It is to be understood that there is a internal feeling of not good about something.

It is quite often seen in everyone of us that there us wrong self image which puts us down. We have to understand that this self image is to be improved and music see the positive side of everything.

So not as a doctor but as good friend I suggest you to not to be worried about this thing if you do not want to go for surgery.

My all best wishes for your good health.
