Alternatives like diuretics can be used in place of calcium channel blockers.

Hi! Welcome to HealthcareMagic!

Thanks for sharing your concerns with us. We will try to help you in the best way possible.
First of all, it is sad to know what you had gone through.

Based on the history you have shared, it is a less frequent, still, known side effect relating to calcium channel blockers. Usually, symptoms subside after few days of usage but if the discomfort is significant and persistent, alternative options like using a diuretic along with the Ramipril can be considered instead of calcium channel blockers.

Meanwhile, avoiding fizzy drinks, spicy and junk foods may decrease the incidence. If the symptoms persist despite discontinuation of the offending drugs, antacids like omeprazole or pantoprazole before meals along with motility agents like domperidone before meals can be used after discussing with your primary doctor.

Wishing you a speedy recovery. Hope this has answered your query.
If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.

Regards.
