                                            Question : Hi There,
I am 28 yrs male I have mild acne on my forehead and and some near eye brows and near the ends of eyebrows. Pimples are very small and tiny and can be noticed from near distance only. I have this from past 4 months. My doctor told me to use Clindac A gel for the pimple during night and doxy-1 l-dr forte twice a day for a week.
After one week of treatment pimples have comne down little bit. My question is can I continue the antibiotics for another 2 weeks or so as I have some important event coming up. Also I have changed my diet completly from past 2 months but acne does not seems to go away. I am suffering from acne for the 1st time and I want to get rid of this ASAP. Please Advice.
I had tried Acnovate gel earlier it seems it increases the pimple size and darkens the skin so I stopped using it. Waiting for your valuable advice
Also Please advice some creams to reduce the acne scars.

                                    Brief Answer:
Can continue with antibiotics, glycolic acid cream & sunscreen
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for being at HealthcareMagic,
I have gone through your complaints and can understand your concern but acne is a chronic problem and will take time to settle.
Antibiotics take time to start action and need to be continued for 4-6 months.
You can definitely continue with capsule doxycycline 100 mg twice daily for another 2 weeks.
For scars apply glycolic acid 6 percent cream on the scars at night and a broad spectrum sunscreen gel during the day time on the entire face.
As far as diet is concerned avoid oily and sugary foods.
Regards
Dr Asmeet
