Question : I have acne on my hair scalp. They are mostly whiteheads. The majority of them are near my hairline or an inch or 2 behind. Unfortunately, I pick at these whiteheads. This issue has been going on for a little over a year now. Is there anything I can do to prevent these whiteheads? Are there any special shampoo or conditioners I could use?

Hi,
Thanks for writing to us.
You seem to have an oily scalp which could probably cause white pus filled bumps over scalp.
To advise a proper treatment, I would like to know
If your scalp is itchy
If your scalp is red and has greasy scales
If you get similar lesions over face chest back etc.
Any treatment used so far.

In the interim, use a ketoconazole based shampoo every alternate day. Avoid oiling your scalp. Avid applying conditioners to hair root.
