Question : Diagnosed with acute bronchitis 5 weeks ago. Seemed to get better after 4 weeks. Now the cough is back to being almost as bad as it was at the beginning. Have shortness of breath, no energy, sleep apnea and a-fib. Any suggestions?

I am Dr Suleman and i would like to help you with your acute bronchitis exacerbations superseded by sleep apnea , deranged metabolic profiles, A fib and Geriatric age limitations. XXXX shortness of breath is because of Bronchitis associated by sleep apnea and old age which altogether compromises lung functions.you need central cough suppressants, Mucolytics, Antitussives,Short acting bronchodilators , Zinc products and NSAIDs for symptomatic relief and antibiotics concomitant to above treatment. Meanwhile seek sleep disorders specialist for discussion of therapies suitable for your apnea and let them decide what is best for you. Atrial fibrillation needs compliance with medications and consult with cardiologist for further management.
