Brief Answer:
You can switch over to another antidepressant

Detailed Answer:
Hi, thanks for your query. Welcome to HCM. I shall answer accordingly.

Your childhood ADHD/ADD might have continued in adulthood which is common in many cases and it is known as adult ADHD/ADD. There are so many symptoms of adult ADHD and they differ from your childhood problems. Following are the basic symptoms clusters:
1. Trouble concentrating and staying focused
2. Hyperfocus: a tendency to become absorbed in tasks that are stimulating and rewarding
3. Disorganization and forgetfulness
4. Impulsivity
5. Emotional difficulties
6. Hyperactivity or restlessness

The symptoms of ADD/ADHD can contribute to a variety of health problems, including compulsive eating, substance abuse, anxiety, chronic stress and tension, and low self-esteem. You might be experiencing the same.

Treatment with drugs can't improve all your symptoms. Drugs you have been taking in the childhood will also be helpful like ritalin. Here, I shall suggest you to go for other options like bupropion, desvenlafaxine, atomoxetine, reboxetine. You should avoid taking ritalin now. Celexa wont help further. Visit a psychiatrist and ask for help because finally you have to take prescription from him.

Drugs wont improve all your symptoms like drugs will help with attention and concentration issues but will help very little with symptoms of disorganization, poor time management, forgetfulness, and procrastination etc.

You should keep following points in your mind:
1. Regular exercise, like walking, jogging, outdoor sports, swimming etc, will help a lot.
2. It is important to get adequate sleep at night.
3. Taking healthy diet containing high iron, zinc, magnesium, important vitamins. avoid high intake of proteins. You can visit a dietician for your diet chart. Try to include fish oil in the diet.
4. Relaxation techniques like meditation and yoga will be helpful.
5. Psychotherapy which includes talk therapy, marriage and family therapy, cognitive behavior therapy is very helpful.
6. You can also attend behavioral coaching, task organization sessions.

I have suggested drugs to you. Discuss about this with your psychiatrist. If you are not able to visit a psychiatrist then at least try the non pharmacological techniques of getting better.

Hope I have answered your query. If you have further query then feel free to ask. Wishing you good health.

Brief Answer:
Daytrna patch wont be suitable for you

Detailed Answer:
Hi, thanks for writing again.

Daytrana patch is skin patch which contains methylphenidate which is a similar drug to amphetamines. It itself can increase the anxiety and tension and there are other side effects also. It is habit forming psychostimulant drug. It is also involved in drug smuggling. So don't take a drug for which you will develop habit after few weeks.Prescription for this drug is very difficult to get from a doctor even.

It is better to try other drugs I have listed.

Take any of the drug only after the discussion with your doctor or psychiatrist. His opinion may differ from mine.

Hope I have answered your query. If you do not have any clarifications, you can close the discussion and rate the answer. Wish you good health.

Brief Answer:
Yeah, you are right.

Detailed Answer:
Hi, thanks for writing again.

Reboxetine is a good drug. It has different mechanism of action than celexa. So both can be taken together without additional side effects. Reboxetine increases the level of norepinephrine while celexa increases serotonin, both of which are decreased in a patient of depression and anxiety. These neurotransmitters are also involved in ADHD.

So you can take both together.

Hope I have answered your query. If you do not have further clarification then close the discussion and rate the answer.

Wish you good health.
