Question : Hi i am a male age 20, from last 3 to 4 years i am suffering from allergic bronchiotis, i have consulted many doctor;s but ended up getting new medicine from them but no cure, the last medicine which i got from a Gp was betnesol, which i was taking from last 7 to 8 month's, the medicine used to work immeidtaely, but there was no permanent cure, i am allergic to dust, pollen, cold, etc, sometimes i feel breathless when the wheezing increases, and also i came to know from the net that betnesol has many side affects and it is a steroid, i went on to put on 15 to 20 kgs of weight after i started taking this medicine, so i want some advise and suggestion which could cure me from this wheezing permanently and also suggest any tests related to it. Thanks

Brief Answer: Need Allergen profile testing; maybe immunotherapy Detailed Answer: Hello, Welcome to Healthcare Magic and thank you for writing to us. You are suffering from perennial rhinitis/rhinosinusitis with airways disease (possible asthma), that will require optimal medical treatment, irrespective of what allergies you may have. A detailed allergen profile testing with total IgE levels will provide a lot of information of your sensitivities. I would suggest the following tests: Hemogram Liver function tests Vit D3 levels TSH, fT4 IgE levek with Asthma panel of allergens Treatment: Antihistamines with montelukast at night Nasal spray (mometasone or fluticasone) Foracort 200 Combination inhaler twice daily You can write back with the results. Best Wishes.

Brief Answer: A lung function test is recommended (pre and post) Detailed Answer: You have to get the tests done when possible along with a lung function test (pre- and post-bronchodilator studies) Fexofenadine 180mg 8AM Singulair 10mg at 10PM Foracort 200 autohaler device 2 puffs morning & night Nasonex nasal spray 1 spray/nostril once daily would be a good combination of medications. Please discuss with your doctor for a prescription. Best Wishes.
