Question : Hi,
My wife appears to have been bitten by something. She started itching under her chin, which has become puffy. So has her upper lip. We had some celestamine and she took a tablet. How long will it take to know if this is working. It is late night here, so we can't go to a doctor. She also uses epilepsy medication. Tegretol and Topomax.

Thanks XXXXXXX

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for your query.

It appears to be a allergic reaction the possible cause of which could be an insect bite only.

Yes, celestamine is a better and stronger drug for such reactions. You could have given her simple antiallergics like Benadryl. Anyway Celestamine will surely help, it may take 4 to 6 hours to show its effect.

If the symptoms are worsening then do give a dose of Tab Benadryl which can synergistically alleviate the allergy.

Hope, I answered your query.

Wish you good health.
