Question : While staying in a guest room in XXXXXXX Tennessee, I was bitten by something that left a tiny very itchy red spot....so far, all it does is itch, itch and itch. I put alcohol on it and it stops only to come back again. It seems awfully small to have any thing in it....should i watch for any thing..it was not a bedbug

Brief Answer:
take antihistamines

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to HealthcareMagic.

I read your query and understand your concern . Don't worry its a allergic reaction to the insect bite.

If such a patient comes to me I would prescribe antihistamine like cetrizine or levocetrizine for 5 days. The redness and itch will come down. For the prescription you need to consult a your doctor .

Keep a watch on that red area if it increases in size or become whitish then it needs to be drained.

Hope I have answered your query .If any further queries are there I would love to help.

Regards
Dr.Deepika Patil
