Brief Answer: Allergic contact dermatitis Detailed Answer: Hello and welcome to healthcaremagic I am Dr. Kakkar. I have gone through your concern and I have understood it. She is definitely Allergic to adhesive which is used to hold the bindi in place. Adhesive dermatitis is a common cause of allergic contact dermatitis. She should avoid putting on bindi Or else she will keep developing the Contact dermatitis. For the dermatitis that she has already develped, she can use a moderately potent topical steroid e.g mometasone furoate cream, twice daily for a few days. One popular brand marketed by Ranbaxy in India, by the name of Cutizone cream contains mometasone furoate, and can be used over that area. An OTC antihistamine e.g cetrizine 10mg tablet once daily in the evening would help in relieving the itch. regards
