Suggest Treatment For Allergic Rhinitis With Fibromyalgia

Posted on Thu, 24 Jul 2014
Question: First of all, I am on disability for fibromyalgia so my doctor gives me Vicoprofen to take when I have pain and to help me sleep. I'm also allergic to dogs, of I which I have two. Lately, I've been waking up in the middle of the night feeling terrible, like I'm getting a really bad cold with runny nose, headache, eyes teary, and think I'm getting the flu or cold (no cough), so I take a Vicoprofen and I go back to sleep. The next morning, I'm achier than normal and have a slight headache, but no cold or flu. Do you think these are allergy related? I have terrible sleep patterns anyway due to the fibromyalgia, but can't take anything more than Vicoprofen (such as Trazadone) because I wake up groggy and feeling drugged.

You are having allergic rhinitis with fibromyalgia

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX ,
Thanks for the query.
As per your clinical history it appears as you are having allergic rhinitis with fibromyalgia .
If I were your treating doctor, I would advice you avoidance of allergic agents , steam Inhalation 3 times , Saline nasal spray 3 times & combination of Antihistaminic levocetirizine + Leukotriene antagonists Montelukast .
You can discuss this with your treating doctor.
Continue Vicoprofen for fibromyalgia .
