Question: My grandson is
having an allergic reaction to my cats. He is staying with me for 6 days while his parents are moving and we are at day 4. He used inhalers 3 years ago when he lived in St. XXXXXXX Hasn't used one in Florida. Didn't realize he was allergic to their family cats who have now passed away. I've had him on benedryl since he arrived. I bought a nasal spray tonight it is a generic for Flonase, Fluticasone Propionate. His only known allergy is penicillian. He is age 13, 6' & 150 lbs. Please advise.

Brief Answer:
Allergic reaction

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to Healthcare Magic and thanks for putting up the query
As you know the causative agent for allergy, make the child stay away from that.
The fluticasone nasal spray will help in case of any nasal symptoms like nasal discharge or sneezing.
Along with this give him tablet levocetrizine plus montelukast once daily for a week. This is anti allergic medicine and will help to stabilize the allergic response.
If the child is having any eye watering put an anti allergic eye drops.
In case the child feels any breathing problems or any lesions on the body, it is a sign of severe allergy and you should immediately visit a doctor.
All the medicines I have prescribed will be available at prescription only.
Take care
Thanks and regards
