Are you sure this is an abscess? Do you have any fever or pain? Do you smoke?

If its an abscess, the source of it must be diagnosed and treated. It can be due to bad teeth, throat infection, salivary gland infection, ear infection. Left without any treatment can lead to mediastinum infection or brain infection. Both can be fatal.
So please do not wait with it. Consult laryngologist as soon as possible.
