I did a full colonoscopy in XXXXXXX and everything was fine. I had had a polyp removed when I was pregnant and it was benign. After the birth of my doctor, I did the colonosocopy and was all fine. From october, but not every day I have had bright red blood on my stools and when I wipe. I went to the doctor that said it was due to my hemorroids. I did the medication and got better, but still had episodes of blood and continue to have. What should I do? I am so afraid it might be cancer. can you please help me?

Detailed Answer:
thank you for sending a question.
Since you have had a full colonoscopy in the recent past it is unlikely that this represents colon cancer.
The symptoms that you described are most likely related to hemorrhoids. If you continue to have symptoms it would be reasonable for you to be evaluated by a colorectal specialist.
you might benefit from a good physical examination and consultation with a colorectal specialist who can potentially provide you with treatments or procedures that alleviate the symptoms that like we are coming from hemorrhoids.
I would investigate to see if you can schedule an appointment with a colorectal specialist in your local area as soon as possible.
Thank you again for sending your question.

Detailed Answer:
thanks for the additional question.
I would continue taking the fiber supplement. I would ask the doctor to perform a good physical examination. They might consider doing a sigmoidoscopy to look for sources of bleeding other then hemorrhoids.
Again: cancer seems extremely unlikely since you had a normal colonoscopy just recently. Try to take some comfort in that.
Thanks again for sending the question.

Detailed Answer:
hello again.
I think it is more likely to be internal hemorrhoids that are causing your problem. My suspicion for colon cancer is low. Please follow up with your doctor for a full consultation and exam.
Thank you again.

Detailed Answer:
having done the colonoscopy within the past six months makes colon cancer extremely unlikely. Again please try to take some comfort in that.
