Yes I was diagnosed with severe panic attacks and an anxiety disorder. Doctor I am ready to give up all these negative things to my body i just want something thats not addictive that will control my severe anxiety because they lead into seizures if extremley bad. This is why I have been taking so many things or trying to to keep my body an min relaxed so i dont go into anxiety or go into in a panic attack because im in fear of going into seizures which i do have a nuerologist for an what he calls "psuedo seizures"

Brief Answer: Need indoor care Detailed Answer: Hello Thanks for all the add on information. Its unfortunate that you have landed up on the wrong side of the treatment of panic disorder. Now the fact that you are already taking 10 tablets of 2mg xanax along with cough medicines and pain killers put you under high substance use. Setting up the priorities of the treatment, you need to get cured of substance use first and then your treatment for panic disorder can be started. For treating substance use, you need to get admitted. Its not possible to treat substance use disorder of such an intensity without getting admitted. The medications need to be gradually withdrawn under the cover of long acting benzodiazepines like chlordiazepoxide. Regarding the options for treatment of panic diosrder, they need to be treated with paroxetine or mirtazapine or venlafaxine. None of them are addicting. For symptom relief, propranolol should be tried, which is also addiction free. These are healthy options for the treatment of anxiety disorder without getting addicted to them. Also you may try the option of cognitive behavioural therapy. This therapy is taken by either a psychologist or a psychiatrist in which the therapist identifies impaired cognitions (Thoughts) and try to correct them. They are 15-20 min weekly session and there should be around 8-10 sessions to help you with your illness. Hope I am able to answer your concerns. If you have any further query, I would be glad to help you. If not, you may close the discussion and if possible you may rate the answer for me, so that I get a good feedback. Brief Answer: Propranolol / Buspirone Detailed Answer: Hello Sincere apologies for not providing the services upto your satisfaction. I agree its the limitation of the online written communication that certain aspects may get mis-represented. The statement that you mentioned "quickly after jumping from klonopin to 2mg xanax off the street i than got it prescribed which im on now ", suggested me that you are still self prescribing xanax in the same amount of 10 tablets per day. I agree that these medicines have addiction potential and should be used only in patients who do not have addiction potential and that too in a low dosage for a short time only. The decision of your psychiatrist has gone wrong in this occasion. Its unfortunate that you are suffering for that reason. Regarding the option of non-addicting anti-anxiety medication - propranolol is a good option. It is taken in a dose of 40mg in the morning or 40mg twice a day. It reduces anxiety, doesnt cause sedation and is free of addiction. Another option is burpirone. It is available in the dosage of 5 mg and helps in anxiety disorder without any addiction potential. Along with propranolol or burpirone, you need to take certain medications like paroxetine or escitalopram to treat the anxiety disorder from the root. They start having their effects within 2 weeks and have shown excellent results in the patients I see at my clinic. Hope I am able to help you with your concerns this time. If you have any further queries or if at all I have again failed to understand you, please feel free to get back. Regards Dr. Srikanth Reddy MD
