I can understand your situation. But if you can get zolpidem, which is mostly prescribed by a doctor who can prescribe antidepressant and anti anxiety, you can consult physician who has given zolpidem for immediate help and prescription.

Do not take any medicine for sleep without prescription.

I am suggesting treatment if I were your treating doctor but you must consult doctor for written prescription. If you suffer any side effect, that prescribing doctor can help.

You should be given escitalopram (Nexito) 10 mg in the morning (for depression and anxiety), clonazepam (clonotril/lonazep)0.25 in morning and noon(this will act as anti anxiety drug) and clonazepam 0.5 to 1 mg at night(for sleep). These are medicines with the least side effects.

Yes , you can stop zolpidem without any discomfort. It is not given for anxiety. It is given for initiation of sleep.It is short acting medicine without any withdrawal feature. It is ok if you have not consulted doctor in that case.

You are likely in severe depression. But it is not like that you have to pass whole of your life like this. Your home sickness as well as depression can be treated for your sure. Just you need professional help.

You have never consulted psychiatrist that is why you are thinking like this. I request you to not to act on death wishes or ideas. Young people like you should understand that treatment is available for your problem and seek help as soon as possible.

Normally it is not necessary that medicines for psychiatric disorder can not be taken while residing alone until patient has severe death wishes and doubt that patient can attempt by taking overdose.If psychiatrist feels that it is okay, he allows to take patient medicine on his own or else initially indoor hospital treatment is given for stability of mind.
