Question : I have arthritis in my upper back area. a doctor that is not familiar with my medical history gave me generic flexaril. i do not have muscle issues and i have chronic kidney disease. is flexeril a appropriate medication for me

The pain in the upper back is not related to the kidney issues. It can be due to a back muscle spasm. Even if you have arthritis the back pain is usually associated with a muscle spasm. Bed rest and taking a muscle relaxant like Flexeril is likely to help you. You can take it for 2-3 days as advised and see if it helps.
