default
Posted on Mon, 26 May 2014
Question: Hi, I am XXXXXX, age 60. I have arthritis pain and was told by my doctor to take 2 Aleve twice a day. It helped my pain, but started having other issues; blood pressure rising, kidneys not working as usual and fatigue, weakness and shortness of breathe. I stopped taking Aleve two days ago after taking it for two weeks. I need something for the pain. Aspirin makes me hyperactive with headaches. Any suggestions please.

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for the query

I am Dr. Alok and very pleased to be assisting you with your health questions today.

which type of arthritis you have? But if you have osteoarthritis, exercise and pain killer like aleve and tramadol or simply paracetamol can be taken. Physiotherapy is also must and in severe cases, replacement of joint can be done

I advise you to see a rheumatologist. meanwhile you can take paracetamol 650 mg sos basis. It is available overthecounter and very safe.

Hope this helps and provides answers to your question.
