Question : My husband has asthma and a bad chest cold. He has now with the cold intermittent difficulty breathing. Is it safe for him to take Zithromax for this. He has a prescription from the dentist. Thanks!

Welcome To HCM. I am Dr Anshul Varshney.
I understand your concern.
Yes Zithromax is a very good antibiotic and will provide cover to him if he has a bacterial infection.
Important here is to add anti allergic medicines like Levocetrizine.
He should also take steam inhalation.
If this all doesn't help he should be taken to a Physician for evaluation and if required Chest Xray and Blood investigations.
