Brief Answer:
needs mesures to control asthma.

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

I have gone through your question and understand your concerns that your friend is having asthma. I would like to ask you few more details.

Is there any breathlessness ?
Is her cough associated wheeze (episodic or continuous) ?

Kindly get back to me with the details so that I am better able to help you.

As such, bronchial asthma is divided into mild or severe, depending on the symptoms (cough, productive sputum, wheeze and breathlessness).

Mild variety can be managed at home with inhalers (broncho dilators +steroids) and antibiotics.

severe variety needs hospitalization (nebulisation, oxygen support, intra venous bronhodilators).

I suggest the following measures, to overcome her asthma.

1. Avoid environmental allergens (dust/road traffic smoke/ strong smells/ perfumes/passive smoking).

2. get evaluate with ent surgeon for associated diseases (allergic rhinitis).

3. stop taking medications (nsaid- aspirin, brufen)

4. avoid consuming freezer products or chilled beverages (curd/ice creams/colas).

5. stress free life style (stress increases asthma).

6. Regular exercise.

7. continue anti allergic medications like tab.lukotas-lc (montelukast + citrizine ) daily one tab a t bed time with for 4-6 months along with your regular course of medications.

Hope this answers your question, if you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.

Wishing you good health.

Breathlessness needs hospitalization

Detailed Answer:

Hello again,

Thanks for considering my answer and for your follow up.

Breathlessness needs closed monitoring with oxygen back up, back to back nebulizations and steroid shots.

With active treatment and precautionary measures, one can avoid asthma.
