Brief Answer:
Such symptoms can occur in Schizophrenia

Detailed Answer:
Hello thanks for choosing HCM for your health related queries

The symptoms like hearing voices in head and seeing objects which others are not hearing or seeing could occur due to hallucinations. But presence of hallucinations is not sufficient to make diagnosis of schizophrenia. Under severe anxiety or suggestibility individuals may develop such symptoms. But the ideas that some one is controlling your thinking points more towards some psychotic episode. If such symptoms along with other psychotic symptoms persist at least for more than 1 month then we can make diagnosis of Schizophrenia.

Yes GP can prescribe medicines but better is to consult a psychiatrist for evaluation of your symptoms and treatment. You have to visit a Psychiatrist personally for proper prescription. The waiting period for appointment differs for each doctor.

I would like to know few thing in follow up question so that I can help in making diagnosis-

- Since how long you are having such symptoms?

- If voices you are hearing are talking to you or saying derogatory words to you?

- If you have any ideas like some one is conspiring against you or talking about you?

- If you have ideas that someone is stealing your thoughts?

Please provide these details in follow up.

Thanks, hope this helps you.

Brief Answer:
These are the symptoms of schizophrenia

Detailed Answer:
Hello again and thanks for providing details

As you also have ideas of suspiciousness and about conspiracy about something it can be due to delusions. The symptoms like stealing of thoughts are also there. These symptoms along with other symptoms you have mentioned are persistent since last 3 months and are present since 1 year are sufficient to make diagnosis of Schizophrenia. Onset of schizophrenia usually occurs in second decade of life but in some late onset is common especially of Paranoid Type. This type of schizophrenia carry good prognosis and individuals usually retain their personality and show good response to treatment.

Antipsychotics are used in treatment of schizophrenia. Medicines like Risperidone, Olanzapine etc have good results in such symptoms. I would advise you to consult a psychiatrist for proper evaluation, confirmation of diagnosis and for prescription of drugs.

Thanks, please don't hesitate to ask again for more doubts in follow up question.
