Hi dear,

Thank you for your query.

I would like to know since when your husband is having such problem ?

Is there any family history of psychiatric illness?

Is there any history of substance use?

I would like to ask you because duration of treatment depends on the duration of illness, episode of illness, treatment response, family history, substance use etc..?

If the duration of illness is short, and first episode and no family history and no substance use then treatment may continue up to one year and if chronic illness then duration of treatment is long.
If better with treatment then gradually decreased the tablet and see the response.

Discuss with your treating psychiatrist.

Awaiting your response.

Thank you

Brief Answer:
May be required for life long

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,

as you told you did not know whether your husband had this problem before marriage or not, but since last 7 years he has problem so minimum 5 years he has to take medication.
once he has no symptoms one can gradually decrease the amount of tablet or dose up to minimum effective dose.

may be he required one or two tablet for life long.

You can ask your doctor to decrease the dose of sleeping medication as he has more sedation.
one of your medication is of vitamin B 12 so it may not need to take for a long time.

If you have not having any side effects like drooling of saliva, tremors, etc.. then you can also quit parnil.

Discus with your doctor.

Wish you healthy health.
Thank you
