Question : My nephew is 26 yrs old. he complains that he can hear voices of male & female in his ears. they teases him. and than he gets angry and sometimes turn violent. please advice.

I can understand your concern for your nephew.

Hearing of teasing voices of human being suggests auditory hallucination.

Auditory hallucination is a psychotic symptom. If MRI is normal , likely possibility is some psychotic disorder. More favoring possibility is schizophrenia.

Auditory hallucination is a positive symptom of schizophrenia and one of the diagnostic features of schizophrenia.

His anger and violence are mostly there in response to voices he hear.

The best doctor to treat such problem is psychiatrist.

You have consulted neurologist and he prescribed enchorate chrono 500. It can help just to reduce anger. it can not help to stop auditory hallucination.
Mainstay of treatment in such cases is anti psychotic medicines.

One differential diagnosis is bipolar disorder and current episode of mania.

To reach to final diagnosis and treatment, detail history and mental status examination required by a psychiatrist.

Please take him to the psychiatrist for further management.As early treatment starts as good response will be there.
