All the pain killers - non steroidal anti inflammatory drugs cause an increase in the bleeding. It is best to avoid the pain killers. You can do a hot compress and apply a local analgesic gel or counter irritants for relief till then. Any over the counter pain killer will not help.
Do take rest and avoid lifting any heavy loads or any activities that aggravate the pain.
