Suggest Treatment For Back Pain Due To Muscle Spasms

Posted on Tue, 15 Jul 2014
Question: I have had back pain for 4 years. I just recently got diagnosed with scoliosis. Is there anything besides narcotics that I can use for pain? Tylenol and Ibuprofen don't cut it and neither does Meloxicam. My back spasms are debilitating and make it difficult to care for my 2 toddlers.

Brief Answer:
hi, yes there are options

Detailed Answer:
Hi, along with these analgesics you need to add muscle relaxants to curb the pain due to muscle spasms.
Pain killers alone do not relieve spasms.
Drugs like thiocolchicoside taken 4 mg twice daily or 8 mg taken once along with your regular analgesics shall help.
You may also apply analgesic ointment to the painful area and then apply heat to the area till your PT starts working/ becomes effective.

Brief Answer:
not sure if internet prescription get honoured at your place

Detailed Answer:
I can list the drugs. But since it is considered unethical and not legal, I am not sure if internet prescription get honoured at your pharmacy.

In my opinion you will need
Tab myoril 8 mg OD 7 Days
Tab ultracet 8 th hourly 7 days
Tab neugaba at night for 10 days
Dynapar QPS plus spray for LA 4 sprays 6th hourly
Hot fomentation twice daily to the painful area

This treatment should be consider for maximum 4 weeks.

Your local physician will know about these drugs. You can take a print of this and show it to the doctor for a hand written prescription.

Is there any way you could forward it to my doctor?

Brief Answer:
No option to prescribe or direct to your doctor

Detailed Answer:
This is an open forum and a relevant doctor can advise you on how to go about your problem. We cannot prescribe your medicine and your local pharmacy would not honour it either.

I am sorry that your doctor may not be participating on this forum and we cannot forward him.

What you can do is, you can write to YYYY@YYYY asking for a refund of the payment if you do not have any further queries except for prescription related.
