Brief Answer:
Might be kidney infection!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about this backache and chills that your daughter in law has. I have reviewed her information fully. Though more is needed to make the definitive diagnosis, this is often suggestive of a kidney infection. Back pain and chills is the most common presentation of kidney infection. I will suggest that she gets her urine tested for diagnostic purposes. Also, take her temperature and ask whether she has any changes in the color of her urine and how often she urinates. If these have changed, then the chances of a possible kidney infection are high.

For now, let her drink much water and take tylenol as recommended by her pharmacist for pain control. She should see her doctor as the main treatment for kidney infection needs antibiotics that cannot be issued over the counter.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thanks for using our services and do feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.
