Question: I have very bad smelling and tasting mucous draining from my sinuses. I finished a course of antibiotics 2 weeks ago for a sinus infection but the smell and taste was never like this. What can I do to get rid of a sinus infection without more antibiotics since they don't seem to work for good?

Brief Answer:
I am listing few things that can help.

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Let me suggest you few things.

Few things that can help are- steam inhalation, oral mucolytics, nasal saline irrigation, nasal spray, oral antihistaminics, oral mild steroids or mild steroidal nasal spray, nasal inhalers.

A xray of paranasal sinuses can help to know if there is any obstruction to sinus drainage, in such case minor procedures are needed to get sinus draining well.If sinus drainage is stuck, medications wont help much.

Hope this helps. Please ask if there are doubts.Regards.
