Question : I was diagnosed with a benign essential tremor when i was a little kid. I now am 26 and the tremor in my non dominant hand (my left hand) is so bad when trying to eat or hold a cup or typing that I've started to just not use that hand. My right hand shakes a lot but nowhere near as bad as my left. Is this normal?

I have noted your symptoms.

Your current symptoms could be related to benign essential tremors (BET). Though it is believed that BET do not get worse over time, in practice, mild progression is noted in most people over long periods of follow up.

As of now, you can take medications such as propranolol or topiramate tablets to get relief from tremors.
