Question : I have a bitter taste in my mouth for almost 3 years. Consulted PCP and dentist and oral surgeon. Also have episodes of depression. Is that sometimes a cause?
Brief Answer:
Depression may not be the cause.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for posting your query.
I have noted your symptoms. Depression may cause loss of appetite and general lack of taste. However, bitter taste is not usually due to depression.
If oral/dental causes have been ruled out, it may be a side effect of any medication, which you may be taking.
I hope my reply has helped you.
I would be pleased to answer, if you have any follow up queries or if you require any further information.
Best wishes,
