Question : I hit my front shin right on a thick vein and it is has lump ind a little black and blue. Could this be a clot or is it just a bruise?

Probably accumulated blood under the skin.

Hello,

I have read your question and understand your concerns.

The lump may be related to blood accumulation under the skin, that's why colors you describe are present.

Blood clot also may be formed if any vessels were damaged, but other symptoms such edema, pain,pallor of the skin may be present.

If in doubt get a Doppler ultrasound done.
