Suggest Treatment For Bleeding Anal Fissure

default
Posted on Tue, 9 May 2017
Question: I have an anal fissure :
- I had pain with bowel movements (lasted for few days), which is stopped now.
-I had bleeding too, which is stopped now but sometimes it occurs occasionally.

I am concerned about the bleeding even though it happens occasionally.
How long would it take for the fissure to heal? (it has been few weeks already)
I would like also to ask about the long term use of the Fybogel (ispaghula husk) on the long term? I will try to replace it with natural fibre and improve my diet.

Brief Answer:
Anal fissure usually requires surgery.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for choosing HealthcareMagic for your query.

Have gone through your details and i appreciate your concern.
As per you query,
An anal fissure is a small tear or crack in the lining of the anus so in lay mans language its an internal wound.Certain treatments can promote healing and help relieve discomfort, including stool softeners and topical pain relievers. If an anal fissure doesn’t improve with these treatments, surgery may be required.
As per your history it has already been few weeks and fissure has not healed so surgical options could be considered.

However a course of healing promoters can be taken along with anti inflammatory for few days to see if you respond to it.

Salts adviced are-
A broad spectrum antibiotic like Cefuroxime to prevent bacterial infection of site.
Combination of trypsinogen with serratiopeptidase( Wound healer).
Dicofenac as an anti inflammatory.
Ointment containing broad spectrum antibiotic to be applied locally over fissures.
Vitamin C( wound healer).
Folic acid and zinc supplement.
Lactulose 10ml once daily at night time to make stools soft and easier to pass.
You should give it a try for atleast 5 days.
However initially an anoscopy should be done by a Rectal surgeon to see the extent of fissure.
Stop taking prednisolone.Oral corticosteroids are containdiated if there is an open wound in body.It can lead to formation of ulcerated fissures.

2)Fybrogel-It has natural gelatinous substance called Isabghullu. After you soak it in water, it swells forming an emollient gel. This emollient gel has laxative properties. it helps in a passage of stools through intestine and promotes bowel movement. It doesn’t absorb any other nutrients as it is unaffected by any of the digestive enzyme. It helps in making natural bowel movement as it provides bulk laxative. It has properties to absorb bacteria and other harmful toxins present in the intestine. It provides proper lubrication inside the intestine wall.
So yes its ver good for you and is natural. 7 to 10 grams should be taken by you three times a day after soaking it in XXXXXXX warm water for 20 minutes.

Hope i answered your query well,In case you need more informations feel free to ask.

Regards.
