default
Posted on Thu, 12 Feb 2015
Question: During sexual intercourse the skin that attached my foreskin to my penis (frunulum? ) ripped and detached causing significant bleeding. It has stopped bleeding but is quite painful. Will it heal naturally, should I treat it with an antiseptic cream?

Brief Answer:
You need to consult qualified Urologist .

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for your query, based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have sustained injury to part of skin attached to frenulum resulting into bleeding.

This does happns if there is a band of adhesion between frenulum and glans penis ..
The injury that you have sustained will heal up within a week .

You need to take broad spectrum antibiotic like Cefixime along with anti inflammatory drug like Diclofenac twice daily.along with topical antibiotic ointment like Neosporin twice daily.
Ensure to wash your genitals with warm water twice daily,

Ensure to avoid sexual encounters till it heals up completely.

Please consult qualified Urologist for clinical examination and to explore whether you need to get that band excised or not which if needed can be excised under local anaesthesia so that the same episode will not be repeated in future.

Hope I have answered your query ,please feel free to ask if you have more questions ,I shall be happy to help you
Thanks and Regards.
