Brief Answer:
If bleeding has stopped you need not worry

Detailed Answer:
Hi...I understand your concern. If bleeding has stopped as of now, you need not worry.

Sometimes during cold and stuffiness, kids inadvertently pick the nose and this is the reason for such bleeding.

If this nose bleed or epistaxis is a single isolated incident, you need not worry.

But if it gets repeated or if it occurs from both nostrils or if there had been a history of head injury in the past 1 week, you need to get her examined by a physician, along with a blood pressure check.

If it happens again please put some pressure over the area and it will stop. If the pressure is not able to curtail the bleeding within 5-10 minutes, seek the service of nearest emergency room.

Regards - Dr. Sumanth
