Brief Answer:
possibility of infection

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to health care magic,

I have read your query regarding tick bite.

There could be possibility of infection but one thing is sure that tick bites are usually not dangerous but needs proper care and treatment.

Following measures would be helpful,

1. Clean the bite with mild soap and water.

2. Apply cold packs to the bite, to reduce pain, swelling and inflammation.

3. Take over-the-counter pain relievers (like tab.diclofenac or aleve with serratiopeptidase) to reduce swelling, pain and inflammation and anti-allergic drugs (like cetrizine 10 mg) twice daily.

4. Apply any antiseptic (like soframycin or neosporin) cream over the bitten area.

5. Injection TT should also be given for a safer side if not received yet.

With above symptomatic treatment,we would expect to see some improvement within 2 or 3 days. However,if pain, swelling persist longer then it is better to see some local doctor for further evaluation.

Hope this will help you.
