Suggest Treatment For Blisters And Bumps On The Lips

Question: Id like to know from a professional stand point if this is symptoms of a cold sore. I bite my lips an nails every single day. Not even just when I'm nervous, its habitual . Im not the cleanest kid and i really don't wash my hands.ive gotten infections before on my lip from biting them too deep and bacteria getting in there. I woke up the other day and the middle of my lip was a little fat and there was these 3 clear dots that were under my lip skin. I wouldn't call them blisters cause they certainly were not. They were not raised whatsoever and literally under my skin like if u ran your finger across it you couldn't feel it. Ive been taking clindamycin and its already like gone. It turned slightly yellow and this yellow like skin formed over it and its basically gone now and its been 2 and a half days. there was no oozing or discharge or pain at all from the dots it was under my skin .Ive expierecned no tingling, no discomfort, no pain, no nothing, the area isnt even red the skin around it wasn't red or irritated whatsoever at all ,as a matter a fact i wouldn't even of known it was there if i didn't have a mirror and wasn't a hypochondriac.I have such a fear of cold sores and would just like to know if this sounds like one to a doctor or its from biting my lips and fingers and bacteria entering. Please let me know what you think

the picture i posted was what it looked like about 2 an half days ago when i woke up with it. those dots are literally under my skin and that little white section turned yellow and is now like gone after pretty short time . again Only medicine I've been taking is Clindamycin
another thing id like to add is the dots that appeared in the picture were visible for no more than a a few hours. this yellow film like thing covered everything , i accidentally bit it off when i woke up this morning cause my lips were chapped and i don't even realize how bad my lip biting problem is and my lip looked totally better with it off , it didn't even remotely hurt either when i bit it off a little cut was found under it thats all i have now its like a little slit looks like a bite mark, again no pain , no discomfort whatsoever no red around it the only thing left is a cut, an this is in a span of 2 and half days

these 2 an half days now almost 3 the mark has been really hard to see or notice face to face only way to have been able to look at it would of been with my phone flashlight. now w no mark and just the little cut its very hard to notice

Brief Answer:
lip lick dermatitis is most likely possibility

Detailed Answer:
Hello. Welcome to Healthcaremagic.com.
I have read your query.
I have seen the attached photograph also.
I understand your concern.
As per details, it does not seem to be cold sore at all to me.
Cold sores are characterised by fluid filled lesions better called blisters grouped together on an erythematous base. It is usually associated with itch or burning sensation . At times, it may be asymptomatic also.
Another common presentation of cold sores is erosions on erythematous base.
In your case, the most likely possibility is a condition of skin called Lip lick dermatitis.
It is characterised by roughened lip skin with peeling off of superficial layer of skin repeatedly.
It leads to chapped lips which trigger a person to lick the lips which in turn worsen it. Hence a vicious cycle is formed leading to chapping and peeling off of the skin.
Later the skin of lip gets hard and yellowish.
Within few days , the sequence of peeling and regeneration of skin gets completed.
As you mentioned, it completely fits into your description.
In such cases, the most important part of treatment is total avoidance of lip biting
And lip licking.
I advice my such patients to put lots of moisturiser over lips repeatedly.
In severe cases, mild topical steroid like hydrocortisone is also advised.
You should visit your doctor so that he can examine you and give you prescription accordingly.
You can share my opinion with him.
I hope it helps.
Stay healthy.

I definitely agree that I definitely have a lip licking problem as well. I never use chapstick and lick my lips all day long. and yes I was looking up cold sores and this just acted an looked really nothing like one at all. No fluid blisters, no red base, no feeling of it , again i wouldn't even of known it was there if i didn't wake up an my lip was a little fat. No discomfort while having it. the white skin definitely hardened up and turned yellow an was then extremely easy to just bite off in just 2 days with no pain whatsoever. I told u i found that cut under it. the 2nd picture i provided is what it looks like currently now its just like a line cut it seems to be getting better let me know what you think.

Thankyou for your time and help

also do you think i should put anything on the cut ?

Brief Answer:
mupirocin 2 percent

Detailed Answer:
Hello.
I have seen the attached photograph again.
The most likely possibility for your symptoms is that you developed cut as a result of lip biting. During healing of such deep cut, new skin that comes first is often hard and yellow.
Cold sores is highly unlikely.
You should put an antibiotic cream like mupirocin 2 percent over the cut area si as to prevent secondary bacterial infection
And for quick recovery.
I hope I am able to solve your query.
Thanks

There is nothing to worry for this.
As I told, it is a part of normal healing of skin especially in those with habit of repeated lip licking.
Put antibiotic cream like mupirocin 2 percent over the cut and keep the lips properly moisturised.
If you have any further query, you may ask me.
Stay healthy.

Brief Answer:
lip lick dermatitis

Detailed Answer:
Hello. Welcome back.
No not at all . Its mt pleasure to help you here.
As I told in my previous replies, such peeling of skin occurs in a condition known as Lip lick dermatitis. On wetting, white layer of weakened skin is formed which finally falls off and in few days new skin regenerate.
It has nothing to do with any kind of infection.
For this, you should apply lots of moisturiser over lips. In severe condition, I prefer to advise topical steroid like fluticasone and tacrolimus to my patients.
You should discuss this with your doctor.
I hope it helps.
Stay healthy.

Hello. Welcome back.
I have seen the attached photograph also.

I could not appreciate any abnormality in the photograph you have sent.
Dont think yourself as hypochondriac. You may ask us any doubt you have in your mind.
Genital herpes is characterised by grouped fluid filled lesions on erythematous base associated with burning sensation or pain.
I don't think you have any of these signs or symptoms.
So dont worry and dont be panic.
I hope it helps.
