Suggest Treatment For Blisters Near Genitals

default
Posted on Fri, 25 Sep 2015
Question: Hello,

So a week ago I have noticed a blisted down by my genetals by my balls a day or two after shaving. The blister was just skin and about 1/4 big. I peeled the skin off and it was starting to dry. However a week later it just got worse and now i have little blisters all over. And those blisters are moving.

I have no pain not itch at all and I think today my genetal left lymph nods hurts.

Is it Herpes? What should I do? I am out of town in business and cant go see a doctor.

Thanks
doctor

Brief Answer:
Genital herpes; Oral antivirals and topical antibacterial

Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you for writing to us.

I have gone through your query and I have also reviewed the images. I can see grouped, discrete, fluid filled vesicles and erosions on genital skin.

Yes, this does seem like genital herpes.

I suggest an oral antiviral e.g acyclovir or famciclovir or valacyclovir for a week.

Topically you may use an otc antibacterial ointment e.g 2% mupirocin ointment twice daily for a week.

Hi.

Acyclovir is 400 mg thrice daily and valacyclovir is 1000 mg twice daily. These are prescription drugs and should be used under supervision of a doctor.

Visit a doctor whenever you possibly can

Hi.

Right. That would be fine.
Also use a topical antibacterial cream e.g 2% mupirocin cream or 2% fusidic acid cream, twice daily.
