Question : I have been having bloating and acid reflux along with left side abdominal discomfort. The left side is more numbness/tenderness but wouldn't say painful. I am trying to figure out what it might be and if it sounds like anything I may need to get checked out by my MD or if it is muscle or acid issues I can treat at home.

I don't see where my complete comments are on here. My back has also been hurting. My lower back was out and I went to chiropractor and the sharp pain has gone away but it is still tender. My back on the left side is also tender.

Hello

Thanks for the query

I understand that you have a sore back which is getting better however your pain abdomen is still an annoyance. In order to ascertain the root cause I need a few more details

1. Is the pain in the upper left part of the abdomen, middle or lower abdomen?
2. are your burping a lot ?
3. what aggregates or lowers the pain?
4. does the pain reduce once you pass stools ?
5. do you drink or smoke ? how much ?

Please get back to me , I am awaiting your reply

1) near bottom of my rib cage so I would say middle of abdomen.
2) as far as burping goes I am some but not a lot.
3) I can't say there is anything I can pin point to say it makes it better or worse.
4) no I don't notice a change with passing stool.
5) I don't smoke and only have a couple of drinks a week.

I hope that helps. Thanks!!!

Hello

Thanks for getting back with the details, I am sorry for the short delay in my reply. I was on call at my hospital.

It looks like you are suffering from reflux esophagitis. Here is how you should go about it

1. Tab Omeprazole with domperidone is the ideal tablet for you. It has to be taken on an empty stomach morning and night for 5 days followed by once a day for 10 days.
2. Avoid milk and milk products until you are better
3. Avoid drinking caffeine and it is best to avoid alcohol for a while
4. Do not sleep immediately after dinner, sit for atleast 2 hours
5. Avoid bending exercises

This should make you better, I hope I was of help,if you have any further queries please get back to me

Brief Answer:
Over the counter

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thanks for getting back. Tab Omeprazole is over the counter however domperidone will require a prescription. Domperidone is essential for you, if it is difficult to get hold of a doctor then I recommend you to take atleast plain omeprazole as suggested in my previous post
