Suggest Treatment For Blockage In Ear While Suffering From Cold

Question : last week, my ear suddenly got blocked. I got bad cold, running nose & congestion & hence had to visit general physician who advised a mild antibiotic course. The cold has subsided, but the blocked ear hasn't yet unblocked. I'm not able to hear properly on the left ear. I also believe there's possibility of ear-wax build-up as my earwax is hard.

Thanks for the query.

I have read your query , reviewed medications and understand your concern.

In my opinion , your ear blockage is because either eustachian tube blockage due to cold or due ear-wax build-up .

If I were your treating Doctor for this case , I would advice you
get the ear examination done by ENT consultant .

If it is due ear-wax build-up , he will advice wax dissolving ear drop like soliwax ear drop 3-5 drops four times / day for 5 days & cleaning thereafter .

If it is due to eustachian tube blockage , i would advice
Steam Inhalation twice daily ,
anti inflammatory Ibuprofen tablet twice daily &
continue xyzal .

You will get relief .
